Update

So blog updates this year have been a bit slow. With my run for school board and political action going on, blogging has taken a back seat to everything.

First, off, the campaign is going great. I’m making lots of headway and people are responding well to my message of Common Sense Education for Mount Clemens Schools. I’ve gotten support from the everyone from the GOP to the teacher’s union (MEA) who endorsed me earlier in the week. I’ve also done some fundraising and should be in good enough place to pull this off.

While I still have a lot left to do, I’m already looking forward to May 6th when election season will be over. But till then, we keep trucking on. I won’t share any campaign strategy other than I’m working with some really good people who have won races before and we have a smart plan of attack. I need to analyze some data here sometime soon then we can really mobilize into action. I’m very excited. There’s also been some newspaper article mentions which have been good press for me.

We had our state GOP convention last weekend, which was a blast. Senator Bishop knows how to throw a hell of a party, and I got to get completely trashed and then was put up to give a speech following Attorney General Mike Cox. I had fun, and only wish I’d gotten it on tape. Ooh well. Pics coming soon from that event.

Personally, not a lot has changed. Job is good. Personal life is good. I joined a gym yesterday, as the usual walking around isn’t making the progress I would have liked on my knee and I gained a bit of weight last year being completely immobile for so long, and I need to get that off ASAP.

I screwed up fantastically on my tax returns somehow and didn’t put the right account number / name or something. The state noticed this and sent me out a refund check right away. The IRS, on the other hand, keeps trying and trying to direct deposit without avail. Ugh. So something I should have gotten a month ago has decided that it just isn’t going to happen until they 1) contact me or 2) give up and send me a check. and who knows when that will be. I suck.

I officially applied to grad school a few weeks ago. We’ll see how that all pans out and what I can do, right now I’m just waiting to hear back from them. It’s amazing how much I miss learning new things…and how sick I’m growing of nothing but computers all the time. The power supply in my home server went out the other day, that was just the icing on the cake for shit I had to get done. Ooh well.

All for now, more soon. I promise.
