Lately, I’ve taken up a strong interest in photography as of late. In doing so I’ve decided to upgrade from my little Samsung NV15 P&S to a Nikon D5000 DSLR so I can get more serious about what I’m doing. I had some great encouragement with my Old Main at Wayne State picture with the University featuring it on their site and twitter feed, and my Down the Tracks shot was a Daily Deviant on DeviantArt last month.
I’ve been quite humbled by the encouragement that people have given me, and it has pushed me to keep pushing myself. I have a lot to learn, but am having a blast doing it.
With that in mind, I’ve found myself in more of a “take pictures” kind of creative mood instead of a “write stuff down” creative mood. So, I realized that before too long I’d end up turning this into a photoblog, which I don’t want to do. So I’m going to launch one sometime in the coming weeks at the start of the new year. The site is currently being developed and it will be a more complete actual place to showcase pictures and allow for comments instead of this place, which really is better for writing than pictures. I’ll have a fully integrated store to order prints, better than the one I’m currently using, and will look great.
More info later. And thanks for your support everyone

Unlike many of my comrades, I usually take it easy on the mainstream media. After all, they’re just people trying to do their jobs, usually. Particularly, I’ve shied away from making comments about news outlets that gave me positive press during the past school board elections.
However the other day, I finally hit my breaking point The Macomb Daily is not news. It is fluff, bullshit, and the most half-assed reporting I have ever seen in my life. It’s amazing the things that this paper considers to be the most important news items of the day.
For example, take a look at the coverage from the other day. This was the front page of their website. :

Vermin Supreme giving an interview during the 2008 primaries
I can’t believe this went so long without me noticing it. Being involved in politics for as long as I have, I’ve seen some really screwball candidates. But at long last, I think I may have found a candidate who is even more absurd than the infamous Vermin Supreme.
Now, to Mr. Supreme’s credit, he can form coherent sentences in the manner in which the average Joe would say such things…he just says stuff that we would never say. But hey, he was running for president of the United States (and one of the few people I’ve ever met who was also a fan of Imperial Emperor Norton I). Livonia City Council Candidate Glenn Moon on the other hand, not only says things that no mentally competent person would ever say, but he says them in a manner in which prepositions are completely optional and has invented his own nomenclature.

Due to request, I’ve changed the way people leave comments and log into Conveniently Misplaced.
The first is the comment system, which uses . This allows for a prettier display, guest posting, better conversaion / replies, and syncing up with all other blogs that use the Disqus system. So it should be fun and much more interactive for you guys, which I’m excited about.
Second is the login system, which has been integrated with Clickpass. I had openID set up for a long time but it didn’t catch on. With Clickpass you can login using an MSN, AIM, Facebook, OpenID and more. So it’ll be easier to login and connect.
Enjoy B-)
